Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Kentish Rifleman
Splendid rural pub, dating from the 16th century and hidden away but with a well-earned reputation for its food and beer. Limited seating on the bar (although it also has a few wooden benches at the front), with various restaurant areas further back - all decorated in a smart, semi-traditional way. Tonbridge Coppernob, Harvey's and Skylarking session IPA from Pig & Porter available from three of the four handpumps.

We came here once about 20 years ago. I can't remember it in detail, but do recall that it was very nice.

An archetypal 16th century Kentish tile hung pub in an AONB,between Tonbridge and Sevenoaks, on the Greensand Way. The well timbered bar occupies the front of the house, with the servery facing the door.Off the bar lies a series of dining rooms, busy on our late July Sunday lunchtime visit.
In addition to Curious Brew, which was selling well in the heat,Harveys Sussex Best Bitter was prominent on the bar, alongside Golden Rule from the very local Tonbridge Brewery and a badge-engineered bitter from Greene King. The Tonbridge was in great form, cool from the cellar on a hot day.
As ever in the South East, food plays a great part here, but the bar plays host to a pleasant mix of,drinkers, diners, walkers and dogs.Photos inside show the extent of fire damaged suffered in 2007:the repairs, to the untrained eye, were first-rate.
