Blue Scrumpy left this review about Y Giler Arms

Situated in a small village just off the A5, this is a pub that seemed to be popular with young locals enjoying games of pool in the small bar area. I believe there was a dartboard too. Away from the bar, there is a large lounge area containing a big screen TV which was showing the local news. The dining room is rather grandly named the Lakeside Restaurant, as it overlooks a lake. The pub also has camping, caravans and rooms. So, it's probably a popular place for summer visitors. A large car park was fairly full. So perhaps there were a few people staying there despite it being mid-winter.

The pub is no longer owned by Batham's. There are still a couple of handpulls and one was clipped with Snowdonia Ale. However, when I tried to order it with the friendly barmaid, it proved to be unavailable. So, cask ale availability cannot know be guaranteed. Instead, the keg selection was Inch's, John Smith's, Fosters, Moretti, Neck Oil, Wrexham Lager & Guinness.

A nice pub with good service but the drinks range leaves a lot to be desired.

A welcoming country inn signposted off the A5 near Pentrefoelas. A lounge, public bar and games room are served from a central bar. Real Ale (mild and bitter) from Bathems brewery. The pub is in the 2012 Good Beer Guide and has been awarded the Mild Pub of the Year by the Abercolwyn branch of CAMRA. Closed Mondays and lunch times except Saturday and Sunday.

Now open every day from 6pm. No longer owned by Bathems. Beers now from Purple Moose and Conwy breweries.
