Country pub in the small village of Llanfynydd, north of Wrexham. Beware of the opening times here. They are currently closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with evening opening on Thursday and Friday and all-day opening at the weekend. Luckily, I'd checked in advance.
The car park is up a very steep bank from the road. Make sure your vehicle doesn't get grounded, unless you're somehow getting here by bus.
The interior is quite open-plan and the bar features a couple of handpulls, which were both unclipped on my visit. I did enquire as to the availability of real ale and the landlord did somehow ascertain that I was the visitor who had contacted him in advance. He did indeed have Cheshire Cat available, despite the lack of a pumpclip. However, not being a fan of that beer and with a drive ahead, I plumped for a soft drink.
The pub was fairly busy and the interior was quite cosy.

The Cross Keys has a temporary closure due to a kitchen fire. The kitchen is now under renovation to bring the pub back to its former standard.
