Now re-opened after refurbishment. Real ale available. 2 rooms with the room to the left housing a pool table. The room to the right is a large, long room stretching back. The servery is centrally situated and has 4 handpumps on the bar with 2 on today dispensing beers from Purity and Wychwood. A much more modern feel than the Red Cow. The pubs ok. Red Cow is better.

opposite the bus station, very handy if waiting for bus, nice atmosphere old traditional style one side, a bit more modern in the lounge
Update, Now the best pub on beam street, much better than the red cow that can only be described as a place full of Village idiots, my advice stay in the shakespear nice beer lovely staff, and welcome to outsiders..and visitors
