Blue Scrumpy left this review about Farmers Arms
The Farmers Arms was our final pub of the day. With our previous pub unable to provide us with dinner, this was our last chance. Food service was supposed to stop at 8:30 and we arrived shortly after 8.
As luck would have it, we received a warm welcome and were immediately asked if we would like to eat despite it being so late and also despite the pub being packed. The lady (possibly the landlady) soon found us a table in an overspill section off the main bar.
The pub does seem to be quite food oriented with an open kitchen opposite the bar. Our food was certainly enjoyable. Nevertheless by the time we were getting up to leave, it was clear that many of the remaining customers in the bar area were local drinkers. A couple of cask ales were on - Brain's The Rev James Original and a golden beer from Rhymney, which I assumed was their Golden Ale. Keg beers included Tiny Rebel Coal Stout & Hawkstone IPA. Ciders were Hawkstone Cider & Thatcher's Apple & Blackcurrant, Cloudy Lemon & Blood Orange.
Dogs and children are also allowed. Our last and my favourite pub of the day in Powys, this is a community pub that is clearly doing most things right.
