My final stop of the night on a crawl of Gwent pubs was this country pub in the village of Llanishen. The single room was very busy with a mixture of diners and drinkers on my Friday evening visit. The only space for me was standing room at the bar, where I was blocking the small TV on the end of the bar and it soon became apparent that many people were in to watch the live Six Nations rugby match.

I wasn't intending to stay long, but ended up chatting with the locals who were asking me to get out of the way of the TV. They soon started talking about local pubs and my hobby of touring pubs around the country!

Draught Bass is the regular beer here. A second one on cask was Glamorgan Thunderbird, which was quite pleasant. Another friendly Welsh village local with a pool table towards the rear too.
