Old Boots left this review about The Half Moon

Recently reopened (again) and reburbished in partnership with Black Sheep in a decor of light grey and light traditional furnishing of kitchen tables and chairs. There are two rooms in similar style the smaller one being more a dining area, there are two sofas at one end of main bar. The eclectic decor includes a saddle and military badges. As expected the beers are from Black Sheep including Bitter, and Golden Sheep, the third wicket was blank, alongside Aspall Cider, wobbly Guinness, as well as three lagers from Pilsner Urquell, Kozel and Peroni.

Old Boots left this review about The Half Moon

A village pub recently reopened after a time as a failed restaurant and then a B&B. Internally it's fairly bland with white painted woodchip, some exposed brickwork and carpeted throughout. It splits roughly in to three areas with the counter in the middle nearer the offset front door. To the right is mainly a dining area while to the left past a balustraded divider is a seating/eating area. Furnishing is traditional pub benches and tables with tables and chairs in the dining parts. There are a few pictures and some brassware plus a collection of odd nic-naks on the window stills. In addition to two three-tap T-Bars of the usuals there are three pulls serving local delicacies from Roosters and York. The wall behind has a collection of clips from other locals such as Daleside, Wensleydale, Black Sheep and Theakstons plus one from Caledonian. Beer quality was excellent and it's a reasonably friendly pub with a mixed clientele.
