No cask. Reasonable keg selection of Polari pale ale, Notting Helles, Harvest Pilsner and Stiff Lip IPA all from Portobello, Lucky Saint, Five Points Pale, Guinness, the lager Nico from Orbit, Showerings cider and their own house lager.
Had spotted this venue when at "the pub with the long name" on the corner of the small lane on which this interesting venue is located. It has some seating on benches at the front, inside it is bare boarded with the bar counter on the left-hand wall mid venue. There are some red leather banquettes around the window and to the left of the bar with small tables and regular chairs. Opposite the bar is a long wooden table and I sat at the small metallic table facing the bar counter on what can only be described as a red throne like seat. Beyond the bar area is further varied seating including some more of the red leather banquettes around the fire grate on the right-hand wall in the back corner. Outside at the back is a pleasant courtyard with covered booth like seating, all laid for diners. There is a nice ambiance in the venue and whilst as a drinker it was probably much nicer at a quiet time, I would be happy to pop back here anytime. The upper part of the side of the venue as you approach of the main road reveals this was once called the Grey Horse.

As the Grey Horse, this pub dates from the mid-19th century but I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a rebuild; a great Truman’s tiled mosaic can be seen on the left-hand wall.
Situated in a none too appealing area, the place markets itself as a pub and restaurant – pub, my arse. With a pleasing contemporary interior, on approach, it was obvious that the tables – all full – were occupied by diners at the time of my 8.45pm Friday visit; a cluttered bar was host to two drinkers, but I couldn’t tell if they were actually drinking or just buying drinks to take back to their tables; either way, there was nowhere for me to stand, so I bade my farewells; the slightly mad Paradise is bang next door, the William a little further west, neither worthy of a special visit.
