Old Boots left this review about The Soap Factory @ Novotel Leeds
An hotel bar open to non residents on the ground floor of the Novotel and standard sort of style for such places. It’s L shaped with the counter in the angle, home to a horseshoe of fairly ordinary kegs, Goose Island Midway I haven’t seen before and I’ve not seen Becks on draught for a while. A right old mix of furniture, leather sofas, half leather armchairs, banquette, low slung armchairs and tall stools at a big table. Round the corner is an area set up for dining. Card only, toilets off the hotel foyer. The area between Whitehall Road and the river was once partly occupied by a soap works hence the name I suppose; although the Novotel is built where the adjacent electricity generating station was, the Premier Inn being on the soap factory site.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Soap Factory (Novotel Leeds Centre)
Novotel hotel 'Cocktail Bar & Dining Room', so you know what to expect: smart modern furniture and decor, inoffensive musak and (if you are not careful) table service... That said, and while there is obviously no real ale here, the hooped keg fount with eight taps didn't offer just the least imaginative and blandest selection, and my Goose Island Midway session IPA came in at £4.00 which was actually less than I was expecting in this type of establishment.
