Quite a remote pub although there is an hourly bus which stops outside. A few friendly locals in the front bar with the back room more set up for dining.
Very friendly service. HPA, Hobsons Champion and Town Crier on offer. My Town Crier was excellent.
Glad to have called in.

The Eagle & Serpent is the only pub in the village of Kinlet. It is a late opener during the week, which suited my arrival time following a night shift. We were the first customers and were soon greeted by the landlord.

There is a public bar area will old casks serving as tables to the front right-hand side of the pub, with a lounge area towards the rear with a garden beyond. Off to the left was a more formal dining room. However, they weren't sure if they would be doing food on the day of our visit due to a member of the family having fallen ill.

Town Crier & HPA were the 2 real ales, which I found a little disappointing, considering this pub can be found in the Good Beer Guide.

Honest Community Pub, where if the landlord doesn't know you by name, he will make you feel welcome. Multi roomed, with a single central bar serving the front bar and rear room more setup for food. We visited on a Sunday and it is essential to book. Not a question of space but of them only preparing enough food for the custom they are expecting.

Beer garden for the warmer months.

Three real ales on - Wye Valley HPA, Hobsons Town Crier (chosen - good nick) and one unrecorded.
