A village pub which also offers a café service and houses the post office. There is a pleasant garden at the front, though the ambience is spoiled a bit by traffic noise. The single large bar inside is less grand, its laminate floor and unsociable, equally -spaced table and chair sets and off-the-shelf wall ornaments making it feel like a cross between a B&Q furniture showroom and a NAAFI canteen. The landlord was not that welcoming, either to us or to others who came in behind us. Food was average in quality, high in price. The bar housed an industrial coffee machine, and there was one ale on, Butty Bach, which was in good condition but ridiculously over-priced. We didn’t feel that comfortable here and probably won’t bother again.

Good old pub, very welcoming, decent beer and great pub food. What's not to like?
