Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Rosedene
The Rosedene is tucked away well to the south of Sunderland town centre and is quite a large Greene King pub with a fair amount of car parking at the front. The building is quite impressive as you approach it.
The pub is the type where elderly people tend to go for lunch. Its target market was clearly signalled by a display near the entrance promoting the use of the pub for wakes! The large function room used for such events is just to the left of the entrance hall, with the toilets to the right and the main bar area at the rear.
Abbot is the regular ale. Yardbird & Landlord were the 2 guests. The interior is spacious, with plenty of seating and TVs showing Sky Sports News. Service was friendly and professional.
Probably best visited by car, it was a fair walk to and from the town centre to this one and not a walk that I'm likely to repeat next time I'm in Sunderland.
