Blue Scrumpy left this review about Lanivet Inn
I arrived at the only put in Lanivet on a drizzly Thursday morning. The pub was supposed to be open from 11:30. Arriving shortly after this, I managed to enter the pub, but there was nobody around to serve me.
I decided to try telephoning, but the line was soon to be engaged as somebody else was trying in vain to get hold of them. I could hear floorboards creaking upstairs, but whoever was up neither interested in opening the bar no answering the phone. After a 10-15 minute wait, a guy eventually arrived to serve me.
A couple of elderly folk arrived shortly after for lunch, as the barman switched on some rave/techno music at a little too high a volume. That didn't seem to fit into the ambience of the pub and was probably not the quiet and relaxing lunch that the old couple were expecting.
3 ales on were from St Austell - Tribute, Hicks & Proper Job. There was also Timothy Taylor Landlord.
The panda on the pub sign is related to a local bamboo grove which was used to feed a panda at London Zoo.
