Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Merrymaid
Although promoting itself as a 'Bar and Grill', this certainly appears (at least initially) to be a corner local. That said, some of the furniture in the high-ceilinged main bar (with pool table) shows signs of modernity, so a modest refurbishment must have taken place at some stage. There are also turns out to be a basic dining room with another bar at the back. No real ale, unfortunately, so had to resort to the keg Worthington Smoothflow (£3.00).

Strange one this, located in Highgate the outside is tatty and run down. However, inside there are two rooms and the main front room has had some money spent on it. There is a bare wood floor with new benches and chairs. There is also a plasma TV and the lighting is modern. However, the modern furniture doesn't really go with the rest.
The pool table table takes up a lot of space.
No real ale - keg Worthingtons

A corner pub that looks slightly out of place; the exterior is half brick (with string courses) and half stone.
The interior is an open plan room, which is in white and a toffee coloured , with a red ceiling and wood floor. There is a pool table and a TV mounted on the brick fire place. I deny you to find friendlier service than the bar lady/owner provided. The clientele reflects the multicultural area and was very relaxed. The background music was mixed.
Beer; all tap stuff, with no MILD. No real ale.
I really enjoyed my visit here, the sad thing is that i had to had a Worthington shandy, as there was nothing that i would drink. I hope it does well.
