Two roadside buildings have been connected together here to form a much enlarged pub - it's not immediately apparent which was the original building, or whether they were built simultaneously. Once inside, there's a large open plan space where the join occurs, but it's not as impersonal as some pubs can be when this happens - there's still a sort of pub-like feel to the place. There are four hand pumps, with three beers at the time of my visit: Old School Bitter from Winster, Black Sheep Bitter and Tirril Gold. The beer I had was in good condition and priced at around the average for the area. A good place to break a journey, leaving the M6 at junction 36 if southbound or 35 if heading north (or in my case, just bringing my bike to a halt at the side of the A6070).
