Fab Café is a retro cellar bar with aqua blue and pink décor making it feel like an American diner made from Hubba Bubba. There are Atari game consoles available to play and some table football alongside a movie machine that was new to me so I didn’t really understand what it was. There’s lots of cool 1980s movie stuff such as Pinhead from Hellraiser and lots of Star Wars memorabilia. The serving counter, manned by a friendly barman, runs up the right wall where Premium keg is available alongside Carlsberg and Brooklyn Lager. There’s lots of standing room in the centre of the bar which I suppose if for dancing during the regular live music nights. Live music isn’t really my cup of tea, but I enjoyed my recent midweek evening visit when there was nothing much going on other than some background music.

A cellar bar that can be quite difficult to spot. Down a few steps and you enter into one large room. The walls are covered with posters for films and various pictures of actors etc. The ceiling has spaceship models hanging from it. There's a Dalek and a Cyberman and a K9 model. There's also a pinball machine which was Indiana Jones on my visit. Sadly there's no real ale no matter what WhatPub says, so I had a half of fizz and went to play on the pinball. It's getting a bit tatty in here now compared to 10 years ago when I used to work just down the road. I'll call in for a game of pinball again if I'm passing by.

Bit of a posy bar with a student feel to it. Minimalist décor with psychedelic murals and weird props including a Dalek, or so I'm told as I didn't see it. Rather pretentious door policy. It's probably mostly used for pre-club drinks.
