I sought out Trof on a recent Saturday visit to Manchester, as it was one of the few central pubs I hadn't yet visited. WhatPub suggested that there is a handpull but if there was, it's gone now. The keg only selection included Runaway Pale Ale, Beartown Inception & Sureshot Small Man's Wetsuit. I opted for the latter which was nothing special.

The bar features varnished wooden floors with the bar against the side wall. It has the feeling of a yuppie's wine bar. The Bourbon Bar could be accessed upstairs but I didn't bother exploring. Food is served at times but it was busy enough with drinkers on my visit. Some annoying funk music was playing, which I didn't care too much for.

One I've had down to visit for a while. In fairness, the craft beers were a little different but I doubt I'll hurry back.

No real ale on but a few "craft" options. I went for one called House Party which was fine.

I only went in the small bar at the front so don't know what the rest is like. No handpumps on the bar. Titanic Stout is available though. It was a a bit steep pricewise too.

Very busy last night again. Live music on in the 1st floor bar. The top floor louge with the leather seats was still quiet though. I had a pint of Blue Moon, an imported North American craft brew. At £5 a pint it was rather expensive, but it was very different.

Small bare brick style bar over 3 floors with a real buzz. We went in on Tuesday at about 4.45, by 5.15 it was full. The main bar doesn’t have any particularly outstanding décor but the little lounge area just to the left of the bar is very snug. A whole array of silver lager fonts greet you as you walk in, I’m not convinced that Staropramen, San Miguel and Frulli are that unusual round here though. It’s OK but not as good as Odd a few doors away.
