Fantastic Village pub in the heart of lambley were a good pint is always served. There are two main rooks the bar which is usualy busy and the lounge which caters more for diners in the day (I hear the food is very good). On the bar are four pumps with three on at my visit with harvest pale (£3.20) Timothy Taylor landlord (£3.70!!!, ouch) and Sam Smiths old brewery bitter (£2.90) this is the only pub in Nottingham/Nottinghamshire that sells Sam Smiths aside from a few sam smiths in Ollerton, nowhere i know sells it as a guest. On my visit it was in terrific shape as usual and reasonably priced (but not when you think Sams pubs sell it at £1.90. all in all a very good pub but some prices leave a lot to be desired like the price of landlord!!my only criticism is the over push attitude of some of the regulars, being a regular is all well and good and believe you me this place has a good few of them but preferential treatment by the bar staff if not on in my books, no matter how often you visit, if i was first I want serving first! aside from this it is absolutely worth a visit.
January 2020 revisit*
Same old same old but new owners and a micro brewery on site with an extra hand pump at the bar but no beer from their brewery and sadly Sam Smiths replaced with Theakstons Best. Landlords now a criminal £4 a pint but still the joint best kept in the region along with the Gladstone in Carrington. Undisputed best pub in Lambley.
