Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Badger Box
Hungry Horse pub with a large car park around the front of the building. A board outside advertised local cask ales and showed clips for Timothy Taylor Landlord & Lilley's Mango Cider. All looked good at this point.
We arrived at the bar and waited. Another guy turned up and the rather vacant-looking barman went over to him to serve him instead of us and actually apologised to him for the wait!
Greene King Abbot, IPA & London Glory were all on. But I plumped for the Mango Cider. A CAMRA discount is offered, but apparently despite being advertised as a "real ale" on the board outside, only real ales are discounted. Although the vacant barman was not too sure about this and did enquire with an equally dappy barmaid.
The L-shaped room had a group of people watching a Championship football match at one end. The other end was mainly being used for dining. We decided to join them for a lunchtime sharing platter, which was reasonable value.
Busy place serving cheap and mass produced beers and grub for the masses.
