Will Larter left this review about Church Green

This is a restaurant or hotel, with any pretensions to being a pub very low down on their list of priorities. The chef, Aiden Byrne, gets a mention in the pub sign, so he must be good, a notion that is confirmed by the fact that he charges £7 for a sandwich with chips, and £6 for soup and bread. Unfortunately I couldn't afford the prices, so you'll have to take the quality of the cooking on trust.

There are two hand pumps on the bar and a small area for drinkers nearby, with deep chairs. The two beers on were Caledonian Flying Scotsman and Marstons EPA. I had the Scottish beer, which was nothing like as good as I have had it on other occasions, and it was far too cold as well. This is not a place for drinkers.
