Will Larter left this review about Grey Walls Hotel
I was here before Christmas, on a fairly quiet night. There were five hand pumps, serving Theakstons Old Peculier and Bitter, Black Sheep Bitter and Westons Old Rosie Cider, plus one pump idle. There's a traditional wood-panelled bar with spindle pillars and a brass foot rail all round. There are distinct areas to the room, with a pool table to one side of the bar, TV and fire with sofas on the other side, and a slightly elevated dining area in an extension at the back. There's a beer garden signed, but I didn't try it (too much snow). A feature of this pub is the collection of stuffed birds and animals (I counted magpies, hare, pheasant, buzzard and owls - there may be others). The building can't be more than 150 years old, but there's been an effort to make it look more like 400+. As I say, it was very quiet but I can imagine it would be busy with holiday makers eating out at other times, or in other weather conditions.
