A large roadside pub currently run by Marton’s, convenient for the M5. There is a large car park, just as well given the standard or parking exhibited by the campervan drivers which had pulled up there, most of whom had no intention of actually using the pub. It has a large, rambling serpentine interior which has seen better days, but it does feel a bit more pub-like than many similar establishments. The staff were pleasant enough, but there was no local feeling to it, and there didn’t appear to be a regular cadre. Pumps on the bar were clipped for Pedigree, but none was available as they were “cleaning the pipes”, leaving only a very unadventurous keg range from which to choose. Rather a disappointing visit, but it might be worth trying if passing as the food looked at least edible and you might get lucky with the beer.

Grim. A real chain pub. Ale was chilled and cloudy. Roast was enormous but very low quality with mostly boiled potatoes. If you're waiting for a train I would stay in your car.
