No cask. Keg offering of Madri, Inch's, Guinness, Carling, Stella, Peroni and dark fruits SB.
Typical Harvester. Plenty of paved patio seating at the front and side overlooking the sizeable front car park. Inside the bar area is to the left of the entrance, bare boarded with the bar counter along the rear wall. A fire grate on the wall opposite the near end of the bar counter and some regular tables and chairs, a few of which were supported by a fabric banquette at right angles to the front of the bar counter. Further over to the left-hand side of the bar area, it became carpeted with regular tables and chairs supported also by fabric banquettes along the side walls. TV's were switched off and an 80's pop soundtrack was playing. As you can imagine the venue at the end of the school summer holidays was furiously busy with families with kids taking advantage of various meal deal offers in the early evening pleasant sunshine.

This is still a Harvester, the Travelodge is still there behind the pub, and it still doesn’t do any real ale although I did spot the keg version of Old Speckled Hen. I went for a pint of San Miguel. Being a Harvester it is obviously food led, offering the usual stuff that this chain dishes up.
There is a large car park, and plenty of ouside seating (some covered and heated) for use by smokers. Inside the majority of the place is for diners of course, but there is a surprisingly large area dedicated to drinkers – or perhaps for those waiting for a table to become available. There is a large wooden beamed and brick built fireplace in the bar area, but otherwise I didn’t see anything very remarkable about it. To be honest I don’t think that there is any reason to visit here unless you’re looking for a Harvester meal. I don’t expect to return, but you never know.

Strongers . left this review about The George
The George is a Harvester located next to a Travelodge and they share the same large car park. It was heaving with young families on Saturday afternoon and the small bar area was full of children and grannies. There are no hand pumps on the bar, but Old Speckled Hen was amongst the usual draught suspects.
To say that I was disappointed to find that the George was a Harvester after walking up from the Plough which is also a Harvester is an understatement.
