Strongers . left this review about The Bootmaker
The Bootmaker is a high street pub sat behind seating that is shielded from passing shoppers by greenery in planters. Inside by the entrance are a pool table and dartboard and throughout is laminate flooring with a mix of banquettes and high tables. The L-shaped wood panelled serving counter mid-way up the left-hand wall supports premium keg alongside McMullens Rivertown Beers keg range. There’s also a dog station with free water and biscuits as well as meals and ice cream priced at £2.50 a pop. There was upbeat but anonymous background music playing throughout for the benefit of the twenty-something Thursday afterwork crowd that were in attendance. The toilets are a full Wetherspoons away up many stairs and corridors. After taking a leak, I was stood next to a man who was just as confused as me when trying to turn on the taps. Acting like contestants on Krypton Factor, we simultaneously figured out that two taps were broken leaving the centre tap as the only option, yay us! Back downstairs, the service was polite, but the atmosphere was lacking due to its size, so I doubt I’ll ever return here.
