Typical suburban Marston's chain pub which I wouldn't normally visit for a drink. However, we were in the area and were in need of something to eat. It's quite a spacious pub, recently (2025) refurbished and featuring a fairly open-plan interior with a number of smaller sections and corners with a clear focus on dining. Indeed when we left mid-afternoon, with the lunchtime rush well and truly over, there was just one elderly couple remaining and still tucking into their meals.
The far end of the pub did seem to offer a nod towards drinkers with a fruit machine and I believe there was also a pool table and dartboard. TV screens can be found throughout and were showing replays of Premier League football matches.
At the bar, there was the usual uninspiring range of Marston's beers on handpull (who knows whether they were real ale, I didn't bother trying) - Banks's Amber, Wychwood Hobgoblin Gold & Wainwright Gold.
Food wasn't the best quality, but was reasonably priced and the young (all male) staff offered a good service. There is also a small outdoor patio and children's play area.
This kind of place serves its purpose as a family/dining pub, but there are plenty of proper pubs nearby in both Wordsley and Amblecote.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Glassworks
Sizeable Generous George pub / restaurant with various seating and dining areas in an overall L shape. Rather anonymous semi-modern furniture and décor, but it does retain a popular pool table at the right-hand end of the front branch. As it's set on a corner, outdoor tables are available on both sides as the building is set back from the roads a bit. Duplicated clips for Banks's Amber (£4.10), Hobgoblin Gold and Wainwright Gold on the bank of six handpumps.

Taken over by Marstons and reopened as a 'Generous George'. Place always seems packed as I drive past.

A good value grub pub. The previous pub sign was unusual in that it appeared to be made of stained glass - the Redhouse Cone shown is situated at the nearby, but now closed Stuart Crystal factory.
