Bucking Fastard left this review about The Miners Arms
A short walk from The Macclesfield Canal, this is a food orientated pub with a corporate feel but without any pubco branding. The entrance led directly to the bar while to the left there were two dining sections, one in a conservatory. To the right there are two further sections, one with traditional tables and chairs and a flat screen off at luchtime and the other with a set of Chesterfield leather upright chairs and some other leather comfy chairs around two circular tables which I took to be the drinking area.
The two course lunch for £7 was proving popular and there is a Tuesday steak night at £20 for 2,and a Friday fish night at £12 for 2.The musak was rather inane and was also blared externally into the pub garden which includes a kiddies slide,so you know what the target audience is likely to be.There is however a Sunday night pub quiz.
The four handpumps had Adlington Bitter,a rebadged session bitter brewery unknown at £3 and Caledonian Flying Scotsman as their guests ales to supplement Theakston's Best and Duechars IPA(reversed) as the regulars.Beer quality was good but that was a dull selection on offer. The bar staff also make coffee and deliver the food so you may have a wait to be served.
Dog friendly and popular with walkers,I would feel that this pub may be better at delivering a value pub grub meal rather than a memorable real ale session.
