Graham Coombs left this review about Hayburn Wyke
An idyllic, rustic place down a winding lane off the road, popular with walkers, cyclists and others visiting the local beauty spots. Well, it could be idyllic if it wasn't infested with walkers, cyclists and others visiting the local beauty spots. It is quite an ancient place, with lots of wood and rough plaster although it is difficult to know how original this all is. The main room holds the bar, with a further room off and pool and darts behind, while a separate dining room is presumably used for Sunday lunches. A robust collection of timber benches outside is geared up for eating, while a more tranquil garden opposite is just for drinkers. Alewise, it offered Black Sheep Special, Wold Top Anglers Reward and Theakston's Old Peculier. The whole place has a slightly ramshackle feel, and is perhaps best avoided at busy times but otherwise it's fair enough for a tourist trap.
