Blue Scrumpy left this review about McCullough's
Irish-themed bar in the centre of Barnoldswick which appears to be popular with diners. There is a small bar area as you enter with a cosy L-shaped dining room off to the right. At the rear is an inviting outdoor area, mostly sheltered. Stairs lead down to what I assume was a live music venue which appears to attract some fairly high profile acts.
On the real ale front, there were 3 real ales - Moorhouse's Blonde Witch, Keltek King & Bank Top Flat Cap. In hindsight, I probably should've chosen one of the local beers. Instead I opted for the Cornish beer which either hadn't travelled well or was nearing the end of the cask. Either way, it was awful.
Young bar staff were fairly cheerful and attentive and other customers appeared to be enjoying the Flat Cap. This is also clearly a popular place for dining. So, perhaps I was just unlucky with my real ale choice.
