Cask was solely something called Amber Glow, not surprisingly an amber ale brewed for them as it was named as the Chef & Brewer ale. Keg comprised another motley crue of Madri, Estrella Galicia, Peroni, Fosters, Guinness, Aspall cider, Moretti and Level Head.

Venue does have the feel of a chain mass market dining pub. L shaped bar counter is up a couple of steps to the right of the entrance past an outside patio area that was rather windswept and wet and uninviting on my visit. The area around the bar comprised standard tables and chairs augmented by a leather sofa in front of a fire grate that looked decorative only. Straight on from the entrance was what looked like a check-in desk for the dining area beyond, that opened out towards the back of that area. Totally unoccupied on my visit. The venue was tiled in the straight area in front of the entrance, but the bar area was boarded, and the entire venue had a beamed ceiling that I am sure was there to make the venue look much older than it is. Space was used by a few people on laptops on work calls, but the music was a bit over loud so I would have struggled to put in a few hours work here!

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Vauxhall Inn

A long time ago this was a nice old building, but it was 'done up' some time ago to make it look old instead of leaving it as was (i.e. old), although the latest refurbishment is slightly more sympathetic. As a Chef & Brewer establishment, the emphasis is naturally on food, but there are usually three real ales on (usually mainstream offerings) but the Old Golden Hen was in good form on my latest visit. The adjacent Premier Inn adds to the corporate feel, but if yoy look at certain angles you can still just about imagine the country pub it once was.
