Village pub that is a little off the beaten track. According to the Good Beer Guide, this was the local CAMRA branch's Pub of the Year in 2022. So, I was expecting good things. Alas, I was disappointed.
3 real ales were on - Butcombe Original, Wye Valley Bitter & Broadtown Spring Back. The range didn't particularly inspire me. I opted for the Spring Back, served to me by a rather lacklustre barmaid. The beer was in good condition, but not my kind of beer. I had been hoping for a real cider, but other than keg options, it was only available in bottles.
The pub itself is nice enough, with 3 sections, all with plenty of character. The areas at either end appeared to be focused towards diners, with drinkers sat in the middle near the bar itself. Although, I think you could eat here too. A selection of board games was available to play.
Outside, there is a car park and a garden area complete with children's play equipment.
