Blue Scrumpy left this review about Ship Inn
The Ship Inn is now more of a restaurant than a pub, opening just 5 nights a week. It is hidden away down a lane just outside of the village of Mawhgan-in-Meneage.
Inside there is a bar area near the entrance and a raised area to the side where the two other customers were dining.
The landlady was however very friendly and whilst I suspected this place might feel a little pretentious, I was completely wrong. As a pub, it no longer offers much. There are 3 unused handpulls and even the keg beers are unavailable, leaving just a selection of bottles in the fridge. We chose a Cornish Orchards bottle, but there were cask-conditioned bottles of ale too.
We did take a look at the menu, but the food looked a bit on the posh side for us and prices were also quite steep. If you are planning to dine, the pub could be a nice option, but as a drinker it ticks very few boxes.

Village pub in area of outstanding natural beauty. Mawgan born and bred landlord Lynton Williams, with partner Marta, seek to put the pub right back where it should be - at the heart of the village. A warm welcome for all. Wholesome, home-cooked food. Good local beers (in CAMRA good pub guide 2009). Garden. Dogs welcome.
