Soup Dragon left this review about The Woodman
A detached 30s looking Marstons pub/eatery with large patio and beer garden. The pub is in exposed brick, with two white rendered front gables and a couple of dormwer windows.
The interior is an open plan U-shaped room around a central serving bar. To the left on entry is a drinkers area with a small fireplace, whilst most of the place is given over to a family restaurant, with a raised area in one corner. The decor is the common enough walls of red, green, cream with a bit of brown patterned wallpaper and some wood panel. The ceiling, supported by red columns, is white and the carpet a generic loud one, with wood around the bar. A There is eclectic seating and tables along with arty pictures on the walls, with the odd old photo. There were a few TVs with the silent footy on and some charty music playing at a decent level in the background. The service was fine and the place busy with families eating really.
Beer; usual keg drinks with Banks's MILD. There was a decent Banks's Bitter on handpull.
A decent family pub/restaurant (as shown by the kid's grabbing machine) that also has an area that is for drinkers. I felt it was one of the better Marstons places of this sort that i had been to.
