Strongers . left this review about Duchess Bar
Advertisements outside Duchess Bar inform readers that football is shown and happy hour is between 19:00 and 20:00 where pints can be purchased for £2.50. A disco was advertised for the Thursday after my recent Monday afternoon visit when loud music was being generated by the jukebox. There is a pool table and children are permitted until 18:00, although I wouldn’t take my kids in here.
I didn’t note any food being advertised and the drinks range stretches to standard draught. Cheap accommodation is available, but I got the feeling that this is directed more at building contractors rather than tourists.
I found the service to be lacking any politeness and I was served a pint when I specifically asked for a half. This isn’t a pub I’ll be rushing back to anytime soon.

Roger Button left this review about The Ship and Billet
This traditional but rather tired looking pub is situated on the main road from Greenwich towards Charlton and Woolwich and is far enough away to remain untouched by any necessities to pander to the tourist industry.
The large knocked through carpeted interior has a central bar with a traditional canopy upon which sit a few model ships. The nautical theme is mirrored throughout the décor with pictures of galleons sharing wallspace with numerous cheap posters for karaoke nights. There is a pool table in one corner, a couple of TV’s, a piano at the back and a small stage area at the front. Piped Magic FM radio was being played during my visit.
There isn’t anything to get excited about on the beer side of things with no Real Ales and the usual suspects lined up on the beer engines. The pub seemed friendly enough albeit there was hardly anyone in there and it seems to covers all the basics without stretching itself to anything worth making the effort to visit. It is probably best left to the locals and pub ticking completists.
