This is a really nice little traditional pub, surprisingly not mucked about too much by Robinson's, a nice little snug on the right on entering being particularly pleasant. Four hand pumps with Old Rosie cider plus Cumbria Way and Dizzy Blonde augmented by the low alcohol Citra 3.4%. I had a half of the latter, but I'm still not a fan of the hop, especially when it's on its own (NBSS 3.5).
Background music sufficiently low volume to be ignorable, but I still think that silence and ambient noise would be better. The barman, accustomed to stupid tourists, warned me that what I had ordered was a pale ale; just like it says on the pump clip, I retorted. I don't think I'll be on his Christmas card list.

One of several Robinson's pubs in town, this is one I missed on my last trip to Ulverston. Visiting on a weekday lunchtime, the pub was inevitably full of diners and was doing a roaring trade. Some were coming in, seeing how busy it was and walking back out.
The 3 regular beers here are Cascade IPA, Cumbria Way & Dizzy Blonde. The fourth handpull had Weston's Old Rosie cider, which I decided to avail myself of.
With plenty of beams and low ceilings, it has an olde worlde atmosphere. There are 4 or 5 different rooms, including Sid's Room to the right of the entrance. Apparently Sid was the local baker who frequented the pub.
As the Robinson's pubs in Ulverston go, I don't recall a better one.

Very pleasant multi-roomed pub. The bar is as you enter and is a L-shape. 4 handpulls with 3 Robinsons beers on. Beer garden to the rear. I liked this pub. Food available.

this is a lovely olde worlde pub in the middle of Ulverston. while now basically open plan it still has loads of character and separate cosy little areas. very food oriented on a weekday afternoon but great banter prevails in the bar area, which staff joined. I could have stayed here for a while.

This is a terraced Robinsons pub dwarfed by its neighbours with a patio area at the back and a few benches at the front. The pub is in white with black paintwork. There was no tv that i saw and the music was general and at an ok level. The interior has what is now open plan, but was once three rooms. The two snugs, either side of the entrance have had their doors removed - so you could tell they were once self-contained. White walls and white and beam ceiling is the general decor, with a stone floor in one snug and a wood one in the other. The walls had old photos, prints maps and Van Gogh prints on them. They do food, but i didn't eat, so can't comment on that. The service was fine and the place busy with a mixed clientele. The beer; there is the usual tap stuff with Hartley's Cumbrian Way (decent) and XB, as well as Robinson's Dizzy Blonde and Double Hop on handpull. A nice little pub that i had to rush out from due to time - shame that the rooms have been opened out, but that's the modern pub i guess, but would certainly go back.

The Rose and Crown is a really nice looking pub tht is on one of Ulverstons main shopping streets.
Once insidethe pub was very nice and had an olde worlde feel to it,there were stone floors and comfortable seating, there were two real ales on the bar and we had a drink of Hartleys mild and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Hartleys XB.
We really liked this pub.
