Initially wowed by the free hotdogs on the bar when we arrived at teatime on a Thursday evening. Gastro pub but bustling, not least with locals in the know who had come for a free scoff.
Tirrel Borrowdale Bitter in fine condition - after a long wait to get served. Would appear those staff at the top bar are chained to their post and not allowed to help out below in busy periods.
Found a table with a couple of nice gents engaging us in good chat. And then we found out dogs were not allowed inside and asked to sit outside, next to a huge firepit. So no great shakes.

Modern style pub which is bigger than it looks from the outside as it stretches back. The bar is as you enter and is on two levels. 4 handpulls with all beers being locally sourced (Bowness Bay, Loweswater and South Lakes breweries. Very food orientated. Not bad and the food looked OK.

The Farmers is probably the most central of Ulverston's pubs. With its location, it's a popular meeting point and apparently it has reached full capacity on a number of occasions since lockdown was eased. We later met the manager, who says they are currently prioritising diners. Bookings are being prioritised and table service is in operation.
There were plenty of seats available inside on our Thursday afternoon visit. Although, tables overlooking Ulverston at the front of the pub were popular.
The 3 ales on were Great Corby Best Bitter & Bowness Bay Swan Blonde & Tern IPA. Fairly average pub, despite its popularity.

had a chance to look around inside here for once. it's very very flashy and modern. there are a lot of people with a lot of money in Ulverston judging by the clientele in here and the nearby Mill on a Saturday night. it's a far more relaxed place on a morning or afternoon, especially on the heated decking at the front.

The Farmers Arms is in the middle of Ulverston and it looks down market street.
Once inside we had a drink in the room at the front which was decent enough, there may have been other rooms but we did'nt look, when we visited this pub it was a Matthew Brown tied house and there was one real ale on the bar this was Matthew Brown bitter and this was a decent enough drink.
This was a decent enough pub to have a drink in.
