This is an old pub that has been thoroughly modernised, as described by Ray below. It's a bit too smart for me, but I was too tired after walking from Todmorden to bother about it. There are six hand pumps on the bar now, which suggests that business must be good, despite Barbary's opposite being in the current Good Beer Guide. I went for the Ossett White Rat, £4.50/pint, which was in gorgeous condition. (Others were Boltmaker and Golden Best from Timothy Taylor, Thornbridge Jaipur, and a couple of guests from Tiny Rebel and Big Trip.) I know White Rat quite well these days, and this one was smooth and velvety, with a tight head lasting all the way down the glass, and the lingering bitter finish very well expressed, so I scored it Excellent (in the new version of the CAMRA beer scoring system).

A good sized pub with a couple of open plan rooms on the right of entrance, The larger room hosting an original stone fireplace, upholstered bench seating and carpeted. The middle section had a grey flag stone floor, with a central bar area. The bar counter all modern with a stainless steel counter and laminated sheeted bar front. Beyond this area was more seating, pool table and a further lounge.
The young landlady and staff were all very welcoming and upbeat chatting away to all their customers. The place was clean and tidy and beer quality excellent.
Four handpumps serving TT Boltmaker, Theakston Old Peculier, Vocation Bundle Up Pale Ale and Roosters Yorkshire Pale Ale

The only pub we visited in Mytholmroyd while doing the Calder Valley real ale trail on Saturday. We had suffered train delays so decided to just do one pub here to make up some time. The Dusty Miller looks like a traditional pub from the outside but feels more modern inside, almost like a stereotypical "trendy wine bar" kind of place. The previous reviewer mentions it was flooded in 2015 which may explain why it feels so "new" inside if a lot of the fixtures and fittings were damaged and had to be ripped out. It does have a nice stone floor.

At the bar were four pumps - Wainwright, Chinook by Goose Eye, Nettle Thrasher by Elland and Eagle's Feather by Eagle Crag. I fancied trying something I have not had before, so that meant the Eagle's Feather, which I was not massively impressed with.

There is a catering van doing fish and chips in the car park, and didn't notice any food menus on the tables, so perhaps the kitchen is still not up and running. There was also a pool table which I thought looked a little out of place for the style of the place, and was being used at the time of my visit.

A pleasant enough place but nothing to rush back for, in my opinion.

A nice stone-built pub which was sadly inundated by the Christmas 2015 floods. Work continues to rebuild the interior but the bar is fully open, albeit with temporary and slightly random furnishings. Until the kitchen is restored, customers are welcome to bring in take-away food from the nearby outlets. A good selection of draught beers is available including a guest, which on my visit was a personal favourite - Titanic Plum Porter - in excellent condition (Cask Marque listing). Well worth a visit.
