A long and narrow stonebuilt pub just off the A283 by the historic and pedestrianised Stopham Bridge. Three or four rooms on different levels, mainly laid up for dining, but attracting a thriving lunchtime trade on a wet Wednesday in August. A large group of us sat in a little downstairs room, decorated with vintage railway memorabilia. Our fairly complicated order was delivered with charm and aplomb;the landlord having a wonderfully dry wit.
The White Hart was in the 2012 Good Beer Guide, but for some reason is not listed in the 2013. On our visit the beers were on good form:all (real ales) from West Sussex. Arundel Gold, Langham Sundowner, with lashings of tropical fruit, and the pick of the bunch, W J King’s Horsham Best bitter, an earthy saloon bar stalwart.
In fine weather, the riverside beer garden would be most appealing. We would come back if in this area again.

What a find! A lovely pub in a superb location, tucked off main road by historic bridge. Old stone building with riverside garden. Good beers and food sounded good also. Might rate 10 stars but sadly didn't spend long enough there to be sure!
