Delboy 20 left this review about Crown & Cushion
The Crown & Cushion is now the African Village. I used to drink here years ago before Villa matches. I called in under its new name a while ago. Nothing on the ale front so I had a quick Red Stripe. I didn't feel very welcome and I won't be rushing back!

Soup Dragon left this review about Crown & Cushion
A detached corner pub. It is a 1980's rebuild of a 1930's rebuild of a Victorian pub called the Old Crown & Cushion. This pub is in plain brick, with a corner tower of white and blue painted brick. The pub has a couple of rooms, the back lounge being in darkness. The bar room is L-shaped and has a couple of pool tables and a punchbag machine. It is in white and wood walls, with a red ceiling. The TV wasn't on and the music was 70s based and at adecent level. They do food, but i didn't see the menu. The sevice was functional and the clientele cosmopolitan and of mixed ages. A few bits of bizarre wall art are present. Beer; no real ale, no keg MILD, just the basic stuff. I had a shandy. Very much a locals feels to it, which left me a little uncomfortable.
