Soup Dragon left this review about Subside Bar
This is a Rock bar and music venue that is housed in a 70s brick carbuncle. The entrance is on Fletcher's Walk, but there is a side patio area. The interior is on two floors. The upper floor, in blue and black decor, has the toilets, as well as a stained pool table and a bar of its own. The ground floor is in purple and black and has a stage area in the corner, along with a DJ/sound booth. There are a number of games machines, including a punchbag, but strangely the seating has red sofas pointing to the stage! Anyhow, pictures of bands and things that have played there are on the walls. The music was of course rock based, but at a decent level and the TVs started showing 'Halloween'. The service was functional and the clientele, as you guessed, rock, metal and gothy based. Beer; a good choice of keg, which included Hobgoblin (which was fine). Happy enough to have visited and would go back - just not sure about the sofas.
