The Blue Anchor is a large roadside Shepherd Neame pub in the middle of nowhere, so it is food led with a large car park. The L-shaped bar counter supports standard and premium keg alongside two duplicated banks of three hand pumps that were drawing Spitfire and Whitstable Bay. All of the tables out of the bar area were set for dining so I stayed near the bar listening to hardly audible background music. This isn’t somewhere I’ll be trekking to for just a beer again.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Blue Anchor
Popular Shepherd Neame dining pub, effectively full on a Sunday lunchtime. Thankfully, I managed to find a perch in the bar area which was very busy with those eating as well as in the larger restaurant area. Whitstable Bay Pale (£4.30) and Spitfire available from the three handpumps on both sides of the central servery.
