This is a detached pub, with some benches outside. It was opened in 1934, as the area developed. It is quite a nice example of 30s pub building; being symmetrical, with bay windows, and of undressed brick. Of two-storeys, it has a nice moulded entrance and a date crest. The interior had more than one room, but i only saw the main bar, which had a nice serving bar opposite when entering. The walls were of orange and brown at either end, with cream in the middle and a red tile floor - with the nicest feature being the white moulded ceiling and cornice. There is a dart board and a pool table, along with several TVs showing the sport. The music was mixed and at a decent level. The service was very friendly and a few locals were in playing pool. Beer; usual tap stuff, with no MILD or real ale. I just had a shandy. Happy enought o have stopped by, especially to see the ceiling (yes, sad aren't I?) but nothing for a real ale fan.
