This is a detached corner pub. If I have my map work correct, this pub appears to have been built (or rebuilt) around 1910. It is quite plain, but has been repainted recently and is now in a mix of dark red/black and white (too dark to take photo) and so looks quite attractive. The interior has a couple of rooms served by a central island bar. The bar room has some London based wallpaper décor, with an imposing brick chimney breast and log fire. There is a TV here, which had the sport on. Lots of objects, such as old radios etc are dotted about. There is a dart board. A couple of locals were in, including the happiest chap I have ever seen, dressed in a Villa kit. The room extends at the back, where there is a cabinet with old games in, toy soldiers, trains etc - great for nostalgia. The lounge room has pool and darts. It is in coffee, red and patterned wallpapers. It has lots of prints, old local photos etc on the walls, and I spent a few minutes looking around. There was no music. The service was fine. Beer; usual tap stuff with a decent Ansell's MILD. There was Courage Directors on handpull. This was a pleasant locals pub, tidy, with pub games, a real ale and a MILD. Definitely a place I would return to, likely the next time I go the Villa.
