Graham Coombs left this review about Carriages

Really more of a restaurant than a pub, although it still has a cosy bar off the street entrance. It is an old building, with beams and quarry tile floors. Still no cask ale, with 10 keg taps including offerings from Northern Monk and Camden, Theakston's Pale and a very nice stout badged as Platform which I managed to identify as White Top from a Manchester drinks company.

Old Boots left this review about Carriages Wine Bar

Near the bottom end of the steep High St, it is divided into three sections, the middle section with the bar counter being more suited to casual drinking. A small, low ancient building with well worn quarry tile floor and even older looking exposed wall timbers, the furnishings are a mixture of chair styles with suitably old tables. In the dining oriented side rooms the furniture is more formal, these rooms are at much lower and higher floor levels due to the steepness of the High Street. No cask beers, a wide keg range of Poretti, Amstel, Guinness, Heinekin, Fosters, 1664, John Smith's Smooth and Symonds cyder, being a wine bar there is, of course a great choice of wines. Naturally the tables are candle powered and the décor includes twigs, fairy lights and plastic ivy, but in spite of this, it is one of the better drinking places in Knaresborough.
