Will Larter left this review about The Tavern

Despite a "cask conditioned ales" sign painted on the front wall, there are just three naked hand pumps, kept behind a sheet of thick plastic, to prevent the transmission of viral infections. Having had a John Smiths Smooth and a Guinness at my previous pubs, I was a little bit stuck, as the only other options were keg lagers and ciders. I settled in the end on a small glass of Malbec. This is quite a large country pub, with several different rooms opened out into a continuous space, with some low steps here and there. These lead up to a drinking area in front of the bar, which was quite popular with a small group of bank holiday drinkers. A family of young children came in but there's no food on a bank holiday. Plenty of mining memorabilia, and a photo of the young lad in Kes, but no cask beers or food.
