An isolated pub really only approachable by car or if on a country walk that looks to have been formed from two or three cottages knocked together. Very food lead as I suppose a secluded place like this needs to be to survive, the largest room is more restaurant than pub and is table service. The smaller side room is more for drinkers and is walker and dog friendly (but not child friendly) with printed sheets of local walks available to take. Inside has been modernised to the extent that any originality has gone. There is a huge garden to the rear with a water feature.
Robinson's beers, Unicorn, Dizzy Blonde and Wizard were on, Old Tom in bottles. We ate, the main reason for visiting, I must say I've had better but it was about passable.
I suppose the place does what it needs to do, good luck then but there is no real rustic charm or character here.
