Malden man left this review about Hazel Pear Inn
Situated on a junction and diagonally opposite the infrequently served Acton Bridge station, this village pub appears to be formed from two buildings. The section on the right is unusual in design and has the appearance of a former chapel but I am unable to verify this having consulted some old maps.
Inside, the main area has a few interconnected areas, there is some exposed brickwork, two sets of non-matching ceiling beams and a large open through fireplace which once would have been two serving separate rooms. The bar sits along a rear wall, four handpumps, all clipped with Doom Bar, OSH, Marston's 61 Deep and Mr Grundy's Christmas Truce. Food is served, at reasonable prices. There are a couple of side rooms, down a couple of steps into "The Boot Room" where there is a dartboard, TV and smaller fireplace then at the opposite end of the pub "The Patton Room", accessed via a huge sliding door; inside is a single large dining table seating 10-12 plus some lower wood panelling. Another door is signed as leading to a function room, upstairs I believe. There is a garden to one side with picnic tables plus a car park to the other side.
