The jolly Anglers is located on the main Meadow road in Beeston Ryland’s away from the main shopping centre. Surrounded by housing this is a large estate type pub that has a slightly rougher edge to it. Upon entering you are faced by the bar with thee being one long continuous room with a pool table and bench seating to the left and more bench seating and tables and chairs to the right with a few large sports screens. This is a bit of a no nonsense working class pub with mainly middle aged men’s drinking larger but no one was any trouble and the pub was fairly busy on a Saturday afternoon. The bar surprisingly had three real ales with Wells a good stuffing, harvest pale and Exmore Gold. The Exmore was a nice kept pint and competitively priced at £2.90. A pretty standard pub by most standards but the addition of real ale is a real bonus and would persuade me to return if ever around the area. This is not really near any other pubs or places of interest however so I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back here again but a pleasant experience and a nice beer left a good taste in my mouth, could be a lot worse.

The Jolly Anglers is a large stand alone pub that is situated well away from the middle of Beeston's town centre.
When i first visited this pub back in the early 80s it was an Home Ales tied house with a decent drink of Home bitter on the bar.
The pub is now quite smart inside with bench seating and normal tables and chairs, there are now two real ales on the bar, after a period with no real ales, the real ales were Pedigree and Doom Bar.
