The Boat and Horses Is located in the back streets of the estates the centre of Beeston. Upon entering there is a centrally located curve bar with pool table to the left corner and a darts board down the left hand side at the end. There is an assortment of tables and chairs dotted around as well. Behind the bar is the much larger lounge area with the lion’s share of the tables and chairs. The lounge has a very retro feel to it but was very comfy and nicely furnished if not a tad old. The bar area has had more attention over the years and has been brightened up with a few paint jobs and sanding down to give it a fresher feel. The selection on the bar immediately shows that this is a Star/Heineken pub with the presence of Deuchars IPA, A re badged Edinborugh Castle (named rock the Boat ale) and Robinsons Trooper. The Edinburgh Castle was spot on and good value at £2.95 but he Deuchars (£3.10) was sadly off with a stench of Vinegar that had to be returned. When informed the bar man told me it was a fresh barrel which did not thrill me at all until I commanded he take a sip and tell me the same. Upon trying my beer he pulled off a couple of pints of the last barrel as anew barrel had indeed been put on but the lady who served me originally did not pull it off. He was very gracious in apology and all was sorted out, some landlords should use his manners as an example. Overall a good standard backstreet pub with a decent range of well-kept beers and reasonable prices. A little rough round the edges but nothing too drastic, this is a perfectly fine pub to call into and enjoy a beer, I would pop in again if ever in the area.

The Boat and Horses is situated well away from the middle of Beeston town centre.
When i first went in this pub it was an Home Ales tied house with a decent drink of Home bitter on the bar.
On my recent visit the pub seems pretty much the same.
Once inside there is a very smart L shaped bar to the front with the seving bar facing, there is a pool table to the front right, the seating is comfy bench type and small tables and stools, the floor is bare boarded, there was a darts board to the rear left,a TV was on showing ITV news.
There is a seperate lounge to the rear right which was empty on my Tuesday dinnertime visit.
There were four pumps on the bar with three uncliped, this left me with Deuchars IPA,this was a decent enough drink.
There were a few locals in,no sign of food here.
