E TA left this review about Three Horseshoes
A family-run village pub which has been transformed from a failing business into a vibrant, welcoming local with a good reputation for food. There is a small car park at the side and limited parking at the front, though the latter is risky due to people speeding through the village. The garden at the back has a pleasant view across the countryside. Inside, the rooms have been opened out to form a single large bar and dining room with a parquet floor. There are plenty of tables for dining, but no room for vertical drinking. We were greeted by a fearsome lady who guided us to a table and provided table service, professionally but not in a jolly way. Food was very good, home cooked and not unreasonably priced in itself, though the ‘discretionary’ service charge wasn’t welcome. Only one ale on, Butcombe Original, which was in excellent condition. There was also a dry pump. Keg options were Wild Beer’s Bibble, Guinness, Cruzcampo, Thatcher’s Gold and Inch’s Cider. It was an enjoyable lunch, and despite the service charge and limited ale choice, I’d be happy to come back.
