Old Blue left this review about The Dolphin Inn
Lovely 16th century country pub in stone and wood, with a cosy traditional feel and welcome, inglenook fireplace, stuffed badgers, etc. Ales on offer from three handpulls were Timothy Taylor’s Landlord or Doombar, with the third empty. My Landlord was on top form. We were a little peckish, but unfortunately had missed food service times (having made the apparently common mistake of trying the Journey’s End first, not realising it was closed on Mondays). However, after a few minutes the very helpful barmaid was able to offer us the choice of the light menu, from which we decided to share a home smoked salmon ciabatta. Two of these then arrived, the chef having thrown the extra one in as he ‘didn’t like to see anyone go hungry’, and they were absolutely delicious.
This pub felt really good, I’d certainly make a point of returning when in the area.
